Hi, I've got a 113k TD5 on a 05 plate.
The vehicle has worked hard but been looked after, however the gear box has developed a grinding whine on coasting in gear.
Under acceptation it goes, but take your foot off the throttle and it grinds.
4th gear is hard to select going up or down, it seems to be out of line.
Is this the layshaft bearing going?
I have changed the oil and even put moly slip in the box to see if it helps, it quietened it slightly but not much.
Any ideas or help gratefully received.
