Help i have a 1995 300tdi disco
problems
1,small hole in drivers wing
2, small ish hole rearwheel arch the bit where the door closes
3, possible rear door in future bubbling at the bottom
4, strange noise from clutch at biting point when first reversing / or first setting off in first after that fine
5, steering feels funny not vague (when i rock the steering the wheels move) and has a sort of flat spot at about 2 oclock when turning right but never drove a landy before so dont know if thats how they are?
6, very light whiny noise when in 5th at about 60 can just hear the differance when i take my foot of the gas
7, if i put it into 4th fast it crunches but slowly it doesnt but always when i go from 5th to 4th
8, clutch noise when idling but goes when i engage clutch
GOOD POINTS
1, engine is sound no smoke runs like a dream chugs all day long
my question is do i sell her and buy a newer one or spend my money and make her mint again
help please

Can't see any problems there, just normal for a disco.
1 & 2 buy a mig and learn to weld. 4 & 8 clutch release bearing. 5 ball joints, bearings or swivel pre-load. 7 it aint a racing box- change gear slow. Live with the rest.
I'll give you £50 for it.

1&2 have mig can weld, but didnt think i could weld the wing didnt think they were steel , 4&8 how easy it is to change/get the clutch out. 5 ive changed the ball joints but not checked wheel bearing and havent got a clue what the swivel loads are
and if i **** it up you can have it for £50
thanks

If it's the outer wing then no, I presumed it was inner wing as they normally rust there. Clutch is either engine out or gearbox out, change friction plate, pressure plate and re-inforce or replace clutch fork as well as the release bearing whilst it's apart. You should be ok to live with the noise for a while. The swivel pre load is the tension on the pins top and bottom which the front wheels pivot on to steer. Have a search through the forum there are threads showing this.
