Hi chaps,

Well, i bought a freelander today, in decent nick and its a 2001 with 80k on the clock, fsh, all going well so far! Well fust up i wanted to say hi, hi, ive been a member of a forum of every type of motor ive owned. Orion Cossie, Focus ST, Hyundai Tuscon 27 and here i am. Freelander.... or Gaylander???? lol.
Now i have a wee question? I only have one keyfob and key. Can i get another? Ive seen them on ebay but i have no idea how they can be reprogammed??? Any one know???

Im Russ btw!

You can buy the fobs from ebay but make sure its the same frequency as the one you currently have and is working.

The fobs need to be programmed by plugging into diagnostic software, either dealer software or suitable independent software.

Wooohoo my account is finally approved! Thought i was in limbo for good there! Thanks for your reply Mantamad. I dont suppose you know the name of this software. Im an IT bod and could prolly source it and get it working. :)

Just one wee question, where does the lead plug in on the freelander>? Im guessing under the passenger side dashboard?? somewhere?

Yeah, i figure so. Im waiting for the lead to come to me and ill posty some instructions on here. only thing im not sure on is that the software will be 100% compatible, ive also gotta find out a windows xp lappy from work. Im not too bad at this sort of stuff, (i had a dash computer, like fast and furious type idea, in my Hyundai) Ill do my best to get this working :)
