Hi Just joined Landy Zone after buying a Defender 90 TD5
Had it in mind to get one for years now and surprised myself before Christmas by taking the leap.
Several bits to do on it and I am sorting out all my old tools and getting used to having black finger nails again.
Fitted a new fan belt and, sorted out the dif lock hi lo linkages which were stuck solid, then last weekend I took off the EGR system.
Top of my to do list now are to install a new Clutch + Flywheel which howls when I first use it but then gets better after a few miles. When the weather improves I want to get it Steamed then waxed up underneath.
On the last subject I know that there are many threads and I have spent hours reading them, it seems there are many people doing this work with mixed results I would like to hear from people who have found someone who can do a good job at a realistic price, appreciate any help or tips from anyone with experience.
I work for a major compressor company and now provide service support so I spend quite a large amount of my time traveling, any time at home is precious, especially when you live in North Yorkshire.
