God dam it that would be to easy thanks again
You need to check the replacement pot is the same. The ones i got were 90° out no problem but means the arrow also 90° outChanged the potentiometer in my passenger motor on Sunday. Make sure the two arrows on the pot & output gears are lined up as in my photo below.
For the drivers side, if you take the instrument cluster surround off you can see the flap gears through the gap (with torch). Then operate the motors with temp controls & check they move.

Farnell, CPC or RS components.Where do we buy these pots? My distribution motor has just gone kaput. Nanocom says it’s stuck at 78%, even if it’s forced….

When i was on this position, the force did frig all.. i used the battery trick to move it slightly, worked fine ever sinceWhere do we buy these pots? My distribution motor has just gone kaput. Nanocom says it’s stuck at 78%, even if it’s forced….
The correct pot is linear but they are not terribly accurate relative to shaft position. With genuine or correct equivalent) pot, the arrow is pointing to the output gear when the pot is in the middle of it's travel.
I assumed they are linear pots, but at 50% position, the resistance is roughly 60% / 40%.
Spikes in the reading as the shaft turns is the killerThe correct pot is linear but they are not terribly accurate relative to shaft position.
No rest for the wickedThat’s all the work done now for me one day I will list what’s been done over the past 3 years on and off and the car been off the rd all that time but took her out for a run today all was good now all I got to do over the nxt 3 years is fit out a 47ft narrowboat
just in time for winter tooThanks everyone for advice had a chance to look at the old girl today and the fix was quite simple put a screwdriver through the front vent moved the plastic bit inside a touch and its now blowing hot when I pick the screen & middle button and warm on screen when screen & rear button pushed so no more cold night runs in daughters fiat 500 with no heater at all
I bet you could modify one of these.....How do we convert this to a manual operation with a lever though?
Love narrow boats, before I moved to France I considered a live aboard. That’s all the work done now for me one day I will list what’s been done over the past 3 years on and off and the car been off the rd all that time but took her out for a run today all was good now all I got to do over the nxt 3 years is fit out a 47ft narrowboat
all the flaps have the slots for the cables, how did the RRC work?
Don’t know about RRC. But the Disco had manual heater controls for temp, fan speed, AND distribution, and all the buttons for A/C etc are there….. How you’d make it talk to a P38 is beyond me I expect. And then you’ve got to mount the thing in place so it looks neat and tidy on top of all that.all the flaps have the slots for the cables, how did the RRC work?
