heater plugs in a 90

hi ,ive just fitted a 19j 2.5td into my series can anyone tell me how the glow plugs are wired on a 90 do they still use the spring resistor or are they a direct live via a relay fed from the ignition im getting voltage there but they dont seem to be getting hot any help please??????

direct through a relay

you got voltage , are they earthed? if just live to it and not in head- earthed they wont get hot

ahh i think thats the problem head not earthed,ill rectify that but can i still use the coil resistor or is it best to use a relay if so how many amps???cheers you two

relay resistor has 6v output later use 12v

will a 30a relay be big enough???

think you missed my point... ass. heater plug out, feed to terminal , body must be earthed to complete circuit

try prc6913 ,70amp is usual

are the glowplugs not earthed through their body where they screw into the block???

yes but thought you were testing them so out of head otherwise how would you know if hot or not
