Hi, ive got a 1994 300tdi, the heaters dont get hot, they get slightly luke warm nearly!!, ive drained the coolant but when i refilled i could only get about 9 ltrs in before the expansion tank over flowed, book says 11.5 ltrs, any ideas, thanks., our email address is [email protected]

Had same problem after replacing head gasket on my Tdi300, just found easiest way was to fill slowly thru top of thermostat housing, tightening screw/bolt down, running engine till gauge showed warm, letting it cool , then repeat process, takes a while, but did work for me.

i have just been through this,
Few things to check.

Make sure breather pipes between expansion tank, thermostat housing and radiator are not blocked. mine were therefore couldn't vent its self properly.
As above when you refill do it from the top of the rad if there is a plug or thermostat housing.
Finally if the the coolant levels are all ok and engine running fine but still no heat. Take the heater matrix (radiator) out of the air box and clean it thoroughly (pressure washer), mine was a blob of mud, therefore no air passing through it, therefore no warm air in cab. If this is one of your problems the improvement will be dramatic!
