I bought a 1975 Serie 3 88 two and a bit years ago, on my way back home, someone jumped the stopstreet and collided with right hand front, writing the Series off, chassis torn, gearbox housing badly cracked. If the brakes worked on first attept, I would have been able to avoid the collision 
. Parked it for two years then decided to restore, discovered badly corroded chassis, poor previous welding and lots of other nasty surprises. Managed to find engineless ex military LWB with good chassis and other bits. Stripped both to bare nothing, "turned the nuts out of the nut" and in process of bebuilding.
I find the forum very usefull, good advice, good humour, essential when owning any Land Rover, thank you all, I hope to get "Skud-Skud" - translates to Rattle-Rattle, back on the road within next three to six months.
