Hey peeps, whats this Greenlaning Insurance i keep hearing people go on about,

Have the insurance companys found another legal way to scam us of money ???

I was under the understanding that green lanes are classed as public rights of ways like roads be it A,B or Ms and as such you are insured under your ordinary insurance. ?????

Not heard of Green lane insurance, but there is "extra cover" available if you go off road i.e. pay n play day's, trialing etc.

Yeah seen that on various things, that makes sense i was offered it for my old Golf, But several peeps have said ' my insurance includes greenlane cover'

Do they have their insurance with Adrian Flux by any chance? Maybe I should check my policy for any "policy exemptions", I just naturally assumed that if on "green" lanes I was covered ...

Green Lanes are a public highway (assuming you are on the right lanes!) so you do not need extra insurance. Didnt know that some policies exclude it! My insurance (flux) has specified on t that I am covered for off road driving as well.

Thats what i thought, Thats why i questioned it for future reference,

Dont know what company they are with but think AF were mentioned but ive never had any bother with them,

I've had this with a few insurance companies over the years!

They try and say that you are not insured for greenlanes, so then I point out that they are legal highways that you need tax, MOT and insurance on the vehicle to drive them.

They always back down so I get them to put it in writing and away I go.

There are very few companies that will give offroad cover for pay and play sites etc but they do exist.

haha why doesn't that surprise me, Insurance companies trying to get out of giving you the service you pay for !!!!!
