gps fault help plz

ok had car a year now sat nav never worked screen stuck on north and gps carnt find rought and im getting antenna error so i replace the gps reciver on the roof and still no joy iv had the unit out and nothings fallen out so is there anything i have not tryed thanks

bo***ks now the aerial brocken off does the gps need it to work or will any aerial do

which aerial have you bust?

ok i broke the one on the roof now replaced £45
but now gps fixed but did it need an new base No did i need to break my aerial No the **** that fitted the parrott kit never pluged the gps aerial in the back of the unit so £90 later it works well i took back the base of the aerial and got £45 back so its cost me £45 for new aerial but gps working now may i add im not the **** that fitted the parrott kit it was done by the previous owner..
and have you ever looked behind the stereo the hole for the gps antena it hidden next to the jack plugs stupid stupid stupid
