Morning,

i'm hard wiring in a rear view camera mirror and can get the wiring down the nearside windscreen pillar no problem but where do i take it next to get to the fusebox. there appears to be a pod under the dash that has 5 screws on it but even with the screws removed i can't get the pod out, suspect it has the windscreen vent in it.

anyone got any good advice on where to route the wiring and how best to get it behind the dash to the fusebox.

cheers

Steve

Not the answer you want I know but I had a similar issue and ended up connecting my Dashcam to the back of the cigarette lighter by a smaller inline fuse. This comes on and off with the ignition so is as automatic as I need.

Possibly you can remove the passenger grab handle (3 screws?), then down door pillar (behind L shaped plate with 2 screws?) to footwell and across behind carpet/mats whatever?

There should be a space behind the middle of the lower dash, which you can access by removing the pod which covers the clock/lighter/rear wiper switch. If you can get the wire to there behind the facia vent grills, you should be able to poke it down there. When I had mine apart I took out the upper section, vent grills and the plastic tray which sits on the lower dash. Then access is easy!
