Getting a landy shifted?

Any more info? By road/sea/air.. same country, overseas?

Within the UK.

I think they generally charge about £1.50 a mile one way.

A good yardstick. Ta.

where are you wanting it moving from and to?

I don't have a specific vehicle to move yet.
I'm keeping an eye out for a 110 CSW or van as a project, and so far the ones that have caught my eye are miles away So I wondered how much transportation would be.

Two egg ham puls would be Newcastle-Upon-Tyne to Warrington, and Axminster to Warrington.

It'd probably be cheaper to fit a tow bar to my Discovery and hire a trailer for those.

Anyone had a landy moved by a transport company?

If so, what was the cost?
I'm in Warrington and I have a trailer big enough, depends how far as the old V8 is very thirsty but I may do it for fuel + a bit for lunch on the way.:)

pic of trailer, zoo zoo sadly gone

i used the green flag last year to tow a car from south london to south wales for fook all :D . join up their full breakdown package , i think it was about £14 a month . go to where the car is and phone them to say you were towing it home and your cars clutch started slipping / or engine overheating and they class the towed car as a trailer . they come out to me checked my car and said it was fine it must have been the stress from towing so they would recover the towed car to my home address for me 2 days later . not bad nearly 190 miles for nothing ( i still kept the breakdown cover which i needed )

£70 kenley to farnborough-50 miles
The transport manager thought i was going to farnborough in kent so i got the bill 2 days later as it was first 15 miles free, recovery with insurance.
