Hi

The gearbox tunnel on my 1999 TD5 Defender 110 gets very warm on long ish journeys (after the first 80-100 miles)

IF I touch the metal ov the tunnel under the trim, it is about as warm as I woulod want to comfortably hold my fingers against.

Is this normal ?

It's the first Landy I've had and I don't know what it should be like.

I know the xfer box was knackered so I've had a new one put in, and had the oild changed on the gearbox, and new clutch plates but it still gets hot. I can't think of anything else to do so maybe it's normal to be like that.

Does anyone else have this happen with theirs. IS it just 'normal running temperatures' to get like that ?

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.
