gearbox remap ??

you mean an engine remap ?

some say dont remap the TD6 as the gearbox is already made out of chocolate and it will only kill it quicker.

but iv been running mine chipped up (for offroad use only...) for over 3 years and she goes much better now. better MPG and nippier :)

no..i expect he means gearbox remap..

speak to ashcrofts..if its possible dave will know..i assume auto?if manual..what you fecking on about??

You can get the adaptive values reset on the gearbox. If this is what you mean by a remap, make sure you get someone who know what they are doing as the box needs to be setup again after an adaptive reset

The adaptive values in the gearbox ECU are to maintain the box at optimum operating efficiency. EG, change timing is altered to allow for wear in the clutches. You can certainly reset it, but don't think you can program it.

why??nothing is impossible..

phone dave..if anyone will know where to point you he will..

and gearbox map settings will now not be in sych" with upgraded engine hp/torque..that is why om asks about remap of box...mybe wants harsher shifts etc..

one can use compushift to control zf eh boxes and indeed megashift for anything (and looking inside LR zf ecu i recon can be remapped)..compushift may be able to control whatever box you have..(noidea,not rich enough to own)..though finding someone to remap LR ecu maybe awee bit tricky..

If he wants harsher shifts on a GM box good luck to him. I can see it costing him a lot of moola.

Except perhaps for special off road applications, changing the gearbox map is a waste of time. Any ECU can be re-programmed if you have the skill.
In the case of the L322 Td6, you would be better off looking at fitting a better gearbox.

As mentioned above due to torque upgrade was looking at what can be done with the box
I dont tow anything so was wondering if the slip can be reduced

I've no idea how this relates to the RR gearbox, but the VW/Audi/Skoda DSG gearboxes can be reprogrammed so that they don't automatically change up at the redline, the changes can be made a bit quicker and the pressure of the clutches could be changed to cope with extra torque. If I had kept my Yeti, I would have had mine done. The engine was also remapped.

You had a skoda yeti ?

Not sure on the GM box, but you can buy an uprated torque convertor with less slip for the P38.
The box is barely up to the standard torque, LR skimped on the spec just as they did with the p38.

Yup.

Utterly brilliant, apart from the repayments.. It was time to change and they wanted £100 per month more. I wanted to pay less, like nothing.

I miss it. It was relatively fast after the remap, economical great on road, on track and also amazingly good off road.

But my little Freelander 1 is the same size, has loads more ground clearance, even more now it has a lift, is more comfortable and I love driving it. Looking forward to taking it off road very soon.

They didn't skimp with the P38 4.6 V8 gearbox - buy a proper engine and you get a proper gearbox to go with it! :p :D
