You all very kindly gave me some advice on changing my clutch which I have now done. But my first drive highlighted a strange whirring noise.

The car feels much better pulling away and changing gear but the problem came when changing between hi and low ratio. I was at a standstill with my foot on the clutch and pulled it out of high ratio and as it came out of gear and into the neutral position it started whirring. I took my foot of the cluch and the noise stopped.

Could this just be a matter of adjustment or something more sinister?

Thanks for your help.

Yeah both were filled up. They drive fine without noise in gears and in hi and low it was just changing between ratios.

could be getting froffy oil in gear box mate and you can ear it (is that the noise sound?)
and you dont need to do the transfer box as thats the right oil pal

Is it not more likely to be a transfer box issue as it is changing between ratio's?

Also what oil should I be putting in the gearbox?

There was no noise before the clutch change. I changed the oil in both boxes and fitted a clutch kit. Could it just be a case of needing more adjustment or have I put something back together wrongly?

The noise is more of a mechanical noise.
