any other ideas????

cheers
if you are still having problem but better when double the clutch it is sycro problems in the gear box

cheers for the replies, sorry haven't been able to reply my computer broke and had to wait for the repair,

yes does seem better when double clutch but wouldn't it be an issue all the time??

cheers

Is your reservoir breather clear? Perhaps if it's blocked you would pull air past the master cyl rubber on the return stroke or suck the flexihose inwards. Both of these would give you only a part-stroke after a while. Try driving with a flexible cover over the res to see what happens.

i will give that a try, i assume you mean like plastic over the res with a band around it??

cheers

You say it's better when you double clutch, or pump it. Could there still be air in there somewhere? I'm not sure if there's a bend in the system or somewhere to trap air.

What about the flexible hose expanding too much if it's had diesel on it or contaminated in some way?

Is the pedal going all the way to the floor? There are no mats or carpet in the way?

cheers for the reply, sorry my comp broke and just got it back, no nothing in the way and mine doesn't have a flexi hose on it. you it be that the pedal has bent some how??

there isnt any when dual mass is fitted ,gear selector works using 2 clevers on to lift or push selector into line with 1st /2nd or 3rd /4th etc and the other to rotate it into the gear wanted,if it were not aligning fully it wouldnt rotate easily into gear ,engine running or not wouldnt alter it though

sorry comp went again,

this is what it feels like that its not lining up, it is a dmf but springs are on the plates both the one fitted and removed, i questioned this with the supplier and he double checked and said it was right,

the thing that concerns me is had same issue before i changed the clutch and assumed it was the slave that was failing but it lasted over 12 months before giving up, i cant see it being the box as its not all the time, i have replaced the links from selector to box and the both long rods under the car, only bit i didnt replace was the gear stick from inside car do you thin it could be that???

cheers

Have you not considered that the springs in the clutch have gone. New clutch!

its a new clutch plate and the one removed was ok no loose springs and lots of meat left on it but replaced it anyway, i had this issue before the new clutch fitted.
