I'm adding a few gauges -- oil pressure, volts, proper water temperature. Initially I was set on VDO, but what's the experience with TIM or Durite gauges? The Durite look cheaply made. TIM look better.

Are OEM Landy from VDO?

Thanks

Hi Tony,

VDO gauges are OEM for LR.

If you want a cheaper way of getting these set up, keep your eye on ebay for the set of 3 out of an audi 80 or early golf. there are oil pressure, oil temperature and volts in a set. I got mine with the senders (most important part) for £50. Then I just sold on the voltmeter and the gauge holder.

IF you buy the water temp gauge, take it to Rich at Croytec who will match you up a sender to fit your engine. He also supplied me the correctly pitched thread Y piece for the oil pressure/temperature senders.

VDO all the way does not have to be overly expensive :)

I've got an OEM oil pressure gauge, still looking for volts and water temp. Was just curious because there are a lot of TIM and Durite gauges on eBay and other places. Not too many VDO gauges on eBay lately, but perhaps the snow will refill the breaker pipeline... :p

auto Vehicle Wiring Products stock VDO and Durite probably tim as well.

Failing that PM SASBOB :nospamhere: As he runs his own Auto electrical company. and will know where to get em from for a decent price..

I fitted a TIM water gauge (part 034), good kit, doddle to install, however, sender in box didn't match gauge, got a replacement and it's still not right.
