Galvanised Fuel Tank

Hi,

My fuel Tank is galvanised, can anyone shed any light on it - I've tried to find a replacement one but cannot get one for love or money. Any idea's? Option is to buy a painted one, and have galvanised - but I'm looking at £75 to get it done.....

Next question is is it worth it....

You could bite the bullet and get an alloy one made?

Yes they were available at one time,but not seen new ones for a long time.

I thought that galvanising tanks was a no no because the oil/ fuel can cause the zinc to flake off. Guess that i was told sh*t then.

I sold a galvo one last year. If I remember right it was made in canada.

Yeah - I bought it. You and I thought it was stainless at the time, but it aint. I looked up the make at the time Spectra I think. Turns out not stainless, but it was electroplated or something (not galved) and just looked stainless.

Anyway, with my rebuild nearly done I found my original tank is leaking - so I guess i am finally gonna fit that one I bought from you.

I gave one away to a mate last year! I had it come with a series 3 I bought but my father in law had nicked to use as a trailer support!

So I replaced that with a lump of wood and gave the tank to a mate.

FFS!!!

I got a "made in Canada" one!!!!

Anyone want to give me a tank?
