galvanised chassis

Hi looking at ordering a new chassis.

Found this online, does anyone have any experience with the company?

Never heard of anyone use them, you want a chassis from Richards..........

They seem to be an outlet for Sheilder.
You will find very mixed reviews for Sheilder. Best I can say is good product, sh1t service

Local mechanic here was given a shielder chassis to fit for someone and said he had to spend a day putting all the holes in the right places. Absolutely awful was his verdict

I fitted one to my Disco 2. Only 1 hole wrong, a couple where the galv was too thick and needed drilling out, and 3 exhaust hangers on the wrong side (I did get £500 off because of the hangers. )

I wouldn’t use Shielder if they were the last company supplying them. My experience was shocking, and I got the bank to recover my money. I know a very good Land Rover parts supplier had the “pleasure” of looking over a chassis and bulkhead, and he said the bulkhead would probably be “ok for a comp/off road vehicle, but the rest is galvanised scrap”.

Personally, I would buy a Marsland chassis. These are genuine GKN chassis that have been galvanised.

put a Marsland galvanised chassis on my 110 some 18 years ago and it has been fine and was no trouble to fit
