hi

was wondering if anyone had tried the so called fuel savers on Fleabay, there are a couple diffent types.

do they work or is it a scam????? up for trying anything once:eek:

get about 320 miles out my 99 petrol xei. thats highway miles.

Magnets and the like?
I did get some a few years back and ended up getting a refund as they did absolutely nothing!

if they did work they'd be fitted as standard to every car and whoever invented them would be a zillionaire by now

didnt think anyone was still daft enough to buy them these days

I get the same from mine. If I run into the red sector I can cover 345 miles to about £46.

I have noted better economy since removing my rear prop shaft and VCU unit. (very close to 400 miles to a tank on a motorway journey)

To obtain maximum economy keep an eye on your tyre pressures, air filter element, condition and age of spark plugs etc. Maintaining these is much better that buying fuel conditioing gadgets.

Steve

av i missed a point ere ? - whats the idea behind buying a 4 wheel drive motor and then taking off one of the drive shafts ?

do you keep it in the boot just in case you have to drive over some muddy/slippery/rocky bits and jump out and re-fit it before you drive on ?

You haven't missed the point matey.

I got the vehicle very cheap (£550) and I needed to replace my previous car which covered 170K in its 12 year life.

I wanted a british vehicle that I could work on and understand. (Many of the parts are from Rover cars.

Currently I have a problem (noise) from the rear diff. I can't complain as the car has now covered 110,000 miles. I was simply thinking of making it permanent 2WD as I never go off road and dont tow anything.

I dont carry the rear prop with me!! :)
