hi guys

may i ask what kind of average mileage are u getting out of a full tank please

mines 18 x gallons , seems a D3 will do an average of 350 x miles

haven't brimmed my tank yet , but just interested in how they compare plse

thks as always

300 tdi Disco 1. approximately 500 miles 34 MPG, about the same as my first car, a 1500 VW Beetle.

that's a really good range

know it depends on so many factors, if i got around 25 mpg on a run i would be pleased

Yeah, but I tend to pootle along at 55-65 with the trucks, rather than battle for outside lane supremecy with the road warriors in their German death machines.

i'm the same, staying in lane 1 , radio on and letting the world go by, lol

will get there eventually :D

Same here! Had some terrible traffic and a few fast runs down the motorway carrying loads and averaging 35 mpg out the td5, reckon on a gooden driving super eco I squeeze 40 at a push

know i wouldn't get anywhere near 40mpg, lol

Even worse when driving on the M25 , can tell the difference as soon as i enter another motorway

set the cruise control around 65mph and potter along quite happily, keeping out of the way of the normal nut jobs

some D3 owners on a run report 32-34 mpg , but now i've blanked the egrs and fitted the synergy tuning box will be interesting to see what the actual mpg will be

been reading that tuning boxes are suppose to show a far more accurate mpg display on the instrument panel

only time will tell after i brim a few fuel tanks and get an accurate measurement and how it compares with the mpg display ,

will be very interesting to see

My old '99 Td5 Manual I got just over 600 miles to a tank once, driven like a grandad - Just over 33MPG

doing 55-60 following trucks 20 miles down the motorway the needle doesn't wanna move, 80 litres of Nitro Dies will take me round 600 miles i reckon quite comfortably, but i never fill up! 20 litres does me for nearly a week usually :)
i used to go 600 miles on 35 litres in my fiesta :D

to be honest i've never known any difference in mpg , having cruise on or off

have found though the disco is considerably nicer on the motorway over my old td4

i get 24mpg in my disco 2 but i drive on tight little lanes to work. oddly my dads range rover L322 gets 28 mpg normally after a weekend of tlc cleaning and polishing and waxing and what have you managed to eek it to 34 mpg on a normal run.

seems 25mpg is around the norm

just blanked my egrs and fitted a tuning box so will be interesting to see how is compares

mpg was the last thing i bought the disco for, seeing that the land rover designer put a house brick on a piece of paper and said, that's the one, lol

wished i had bought a discovery years ago , going from a hippo to a disco is a world apart ,

can see now why they call the hippo a soft off roader
