I am attaching a fuel tank guard with removable drop plate to my discovery and was wondering what and where to mount the trailer electrics as the drop plate with the ball where it would normally be will be taken off and on as and when needed???? Any thoughts or pictures would be great.

Thanks

I've mounted a Euro 13-pin socket just below the driver side tail light....a little drilling required tho...and it's totally out of the way of getting soaked in mud and or hitting rocks....!!!!

Same here.

You can get a nice little wiring loom aswell from allmakes4x4, about 20 quid.

Instead of having to wire the socket into the lights, just plug it in to the factory fitted plug below the rear light :D

The only problem.

If only towing your trailer then adjust your trailer wiring to suit.

OR carry a short extension, to accommodate conventionally wired trailers.
