Guys

Went to the garage and had the disco 2 looked at by this guy at challenge 4x4 in Surrey.. Just somewhat concerned about the weee leak I got.. and had for a number of weeks

He's pointed the finger at the Fuel Pressure Regulator maybe leakin and will need changing.

My question is this, if it is the said part that needs replacing, why is the leak on the truck like oily substance ? thought if it was the FPR it would it not smell of diesal fuel

But then having said that, ive been checkin the oil levels and nothings lost ?

yeh But dont diesal fuel smell ? does when ya fill up

And would this explain why this oily black stuff is drenchin the rear Acoustic cover ?

I'm in the middle of fitting new clutch with gear box out etc etc. I thought i had an oil leak somewhere, and hoped i would see more with box out. Its the FPR, and it seems to take any engine oil, dirt, grease etc with it and make it look like an oil leak. Goin to change it when box is out and make life simple. Or as simple as life can be with two Land Rovers.:)

To ask yet another question

When replacing the filter and new o ring - it state hold it inplace and put the new replacement regualtor " but dont knock off the o ring "

So wouldnt it make sence to put something like glue or sealent on o ring ???
