Undo the sender unit and remove the tank without it.

why remove the tank, mine was replaced in-situ, just be care full around the tank

I saw a thing on a website, where they replaced the floor using a industrial bonding agent, used to fit wings, supposed to be as strong as welding (if the manufacturers use it, must be good). Also read in difflock that someone rivited it into place. That would save alot of hassle.

it was welded when it was made so in my opinion that is the only way to replace it

Depends on what state the discos in and how much work you're putting in. I have some major rust issues so have gone for a full restoration approach - remove all bitumen/underseal, degrease, repaint and reseal. This I could not do with the tank in situ!!
