fuel leak from front

can anyone give me advise on my fuel leak? iv got a v reg 1.8 which when i parked up last night was going fine apart from it needs the rear sway bar mount done. got in it this morning for work and it wouldnt start. looked under the bonnet and could smell then see fuel running down by the front drivers wheel. the car is on a cambered road drivers side down. seems like it was only leaking the petrol when i was trying to start it as i couldnt see where is was coming from when i looked underneath with the sump guard in place. got home from work and looked at it tonight and the wet patch on the guard underneath seems to be roughly in the middle. hasnt leaked since this morning. im thinking its a fuel pipe cracked or something, but im unsure where to look? do the pipes run underneath the engine or is it just to the rear injectors. there also seems to be 2 pipes hanging from the black canister (carbon filter?) on the passenger side of the engine bay. 1 looks like its ment to, but the other one looks like its come off from somewhere near the back of the engine area but cant tell where, not sure if this is related or not. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
