hi all just a quick one went out last night to check the pipes comming of the fuel filter and there seems to be a thin pipe comming off the maf thats not connected to any thing rubber with a cloth like outer looks like a vacume pipe but i cannot see or feel where its off it looks like it should be fitted onto something but could it just be a leak off pipe . had a look on rave but its a very poor copy just wonderd if thats my poor perfomance problem

oh yes you made me smile fitted back on now and seems to run better zip cliped it but now to find the reason it came off .inadvertantly knocked off or was it pushed of with any pressure .think the intercooler and air pipes need a clean .thanks for that .now going for a ride with the caravan on to see if its any better

It's not the MAF sensor but the MAP sensor, Manifold Absolute Pressure. It's used to control fuelling along with other sensors and if it's not connected will certainly affect performance:)

i stand corrected map sensor . well just had caravan on back for a 25mile run 100% better although up one very sharp steep hill about a mile long temp guage hit the red but is is one heck of a clime once at the top temp droped back to normal so a clean out of between the rad and intercooler i think. i find it a bit wallowy as well when towing perhaps it could do with new shocks on . or is it something you get used to . any way thanks for the help if only all fixes was as easy cheers.

It shouldn't go up to the red, you will end up witha cracked head if it happens often. Viscous fan is the most likely culprit or silted up rad or water pump.
Ride is quite supple on mine but not wallowy, could be shocks.:)

going to get all that checked out before i do some damage took it round all the back roads roads with steep hills you cant get a run at in the red for a moment then a 15mile blast at 60 down the m180 thats got a bit of clime on it .and it stayed at half way .so will have it all checked out thanks .
