First off you will have to excuse my complete ignorance to car maintenance in general. I have about as much knowledge as a jam sandwich when it comes to cars.

Anyway...I purchased 4 complete replacement wheels for my 2000 Freelander which worked out cheaper then getting 4 new replacement tyres (thank you Ebay!). I have replaced the back ones easily enough but for some reason the front wheels just don't want to come off and seem jammed on. I hope that a) It just needs some brute force which I thought I better wait until maybe b) See if I'm being a complete tool and I need to be doing something else rather then just taking the nuts off.

Many thanks in advance.

Get a mate to hold the front of the wheel. Lay beside it. Place flat piece of wood across the back of the wheel. Firm tap or 2 with club hammer.

Are the tyres you're getting part worn/ new, and same make? The ones with most tread need to go on rear, or you could end up trashing you VCU or IRD.
