Hi everyone

I have a weep on the front diff and the pinion seal now comes as a kit at £116!!!

Does anyone know of a source where I can just get the seal or should I just bite the bullet and buy the kit

I have tried Island and a couple of other sources but no luck.....

Many thanks

Ash

Hi if you measure the shaft diameter and the recess it sits in diameter , a bearing supplier should be able to source an oil seal for it .

Thanks but I am sending the car to my specialist to do a load of stuff and was just looking to get some parts so I could get the vehicle back quicker.

I have found a kit on Rimmer's site for 30.00 + vat maybe that's the way to go and just use the seal as the other bits look pretty crap

as above.

re finding parts. get the lr number and hit the usual places. island, lrdirect, and the many many more. they will usually tell you when a part is superseded, ie in this case the new kit number is STC3124.

be careful as some superseded stuff is actually for later models.

then hit the usual addresses above with the new code and take your pick. genuine lr/OEM/OE/BM/AM/BP etc.

the brand is more important than the source as BM/allmakes/britpart don't always make all their own stuff, but buy it in from manufacturers.

also, if a number ends in a G, as in wammers first link, it is a genuine part.. and as can be seen is corteco.

So i'd buy OEM or a brand I know and trust. like erlang for gaskets, corteco for seals, pagid for brakes or go cheaper if you wish.
