Hi,
I have a 2004, 1800cc, three door Freelander with the big over-rider on the front bumper.
My problem is that the washer pump for the windscreen has packed in. I have a new(ish) bottle with pumps ready to fit but I cannot get the front bumper off!
I have seen written instructions - remove the top screws, then the lower screws and bolts, etc but without some sort of diagram it's impossible to work out where everything is.
I have removed screws and bolts until I thought the entire front was about to come off, but the bumper still won't detach.
I have heard that I can access the bottle by removing the inner wheel arch - that has to be a simpler option - is it just held in place by screws - I assume the wheel has to come off first to provide access.......?
Any helpful suggestions and advice would be most welcome, carrying a bottle of water around is not a realistic long term solution
Many thanks
Mike

Hope this helps mate....

I havent done this myself so i dont know how easy it is, although I would be keen to hear how you get on as I believe my rear washer pump has gone so will need to be doing the same (once I get the bloody wiper working!)

You have to open up the inner wheel-arch plastic bits on each side to get at the last of the bumper bolts anyway, if I remember right.

You'll see the bumper bolts easily enough and then get someone to help you slide it forward.

Washer bottle is easy then - I think to replace it with the bumper still on would be a job for a double-jointed munchkin! :D

just take the inner wheel arch of and it is there I have done mine no need for the bumper of but if you want it of do not for get the 1 bolt either side behind the head lamp they have to come of first but I bet they are rusted and you will have to replace them like mine

I tried that - but couldn't seem to get the plastic out of the way enough without folding it back on itself.

Did you take off the whole inner wing plastic - the screws on mine were all rusted up and having fought with some at the front I took the bumper off.

I guess it depends on the difficulty each individual finds.

Cheers
