Hello all , tonight i noticed new oil stains on the road where my freelander is normaly parked , and when i looked under the car there was a lot of oil on the undertray that looked quite bad  gloom and doom set in , also with a bit of panic , I lifted the bonnet , could not see any signs of oil there , I thought the worst , cracked ird casing driveshaft/propshaft oil seal at best  I removed the undertray to have a look , all the above were bone dry , however all i could see was slight sepage from the drain plug seal , the plug was still tight , hope to god thats the leak , but the oil seemed cleaner than engine oil , I was doing a oil change next weekend any way , hope thats all it is , i will let you know !

Quick update , found 4 or 5 bolts holding the lower sump plate were not as tight as the rest , after nipping them up , no more leak , checked tonight and its more of a sweat around the gasket seam , I think a new sump lower gasket is req , any one else had this ? any advice on changing the lower gasket/best part source would be a help , cheers ian

Cause of the oil leak seems to have been the lower sump gasket , got one from famous four , and fitted it friday gone , strait forward to do , sump is dry up to now touch wood ! :)
