Has anyone yet gone through the new tougher CT with their EGR removed?
Got mine coming up in a couple of months and whilst it has passed the last few times with the EGR removed I'm wondering if this could cause me a problem next time.

Hi Marc,
was that before or after the rules changed late May this year? If after, then that gives me hope as mine is also a 2003 TD5;

Hi Gareth, whilst my French isn't bad I'm stymied on EGR unit and it doesn't come up in my Haynes technical term translation manual.
"Truc pour le recyclage des emmisions d'echappement"? would be my guess o_O:oops:

It's not a difficult one that.. its called a 'Vanne EGR'...

Went for my CT (MOT) a couple of days ago and either they didn't notice the EGR was blanked or they didn't care as they didn't pick up on it. However they did fail it as having a “major fault with the braking system” as the ABS light was on. Until I insisted the guy sit in it whilst I drove it to prove to him that the light goes out at 5 mph. As they had already failed it and entered that fail in the system they had to re-test the whole vehicle and this time came out with a whole different set of figures for the efficiency of the brakes. Eejits.:rolleyes:

hi had mine done on the td5 with egr not on it,just before had a chat with guy doing it and he said it would not be a problem as not on the new ct changes my van dispatch van went through with it blanked off but it is not possible to see it unlike the td5

the fact that the fog and reversing lights are on the wrong sides and that one of the indicator bulbs had blown didn't seem to worry them at all.
