Hello all,

I'm new around these parts but have come along as I have just collected a nice black 2005 Freelander TD4 (Sport?). It was originally my mother's car but sadly she died only a year or so after buying it. My dad then used it for a couple of years before buying a new Leon. The Freelander sat languishing under his car port for nearly 3 years before I rescued it last week.

It's only done 69k and is in near mint condition as it never really did much more than potter about. It is not without fault but there's nothing serious and I'm already on with sorting them out. It's mainly just down to being stood for so long and a good service will see it right.

To be fair, it's not a car I would have chosen but I'm actually growing to like it. It's a million miles from my last Land Rover - a 1968 109" series IIa. It's also got a special feeling because of its history and I doubt I'd ever sell it.

Why "Freeloader"? Well, that's me as it didn't cost me a single penny and it even had a full tank of fuel.
