Mines a diesel ,but the main fuse is located on the side of the battery cradle .

I have no idea if it could just be that , but I think if thats all it is you will be very lucky .
Good luck .

You could've done allsorts of damage. Start checking all fuses, then look for burnt wiring then move on to more expensive stuff like ECUs!

most electronics are protected by a diode which will only let current one way just what has happend is anyones guess but try your mail fuse first but fuses are only there to protect if it has a short I would suspect it could be starter motor because if you change the positive to negitive and negitive to positive on a dc motor it will run the wrong way good luck with this one

The few times I've seen it happen it's always been something pretty basic, ie a burnt wire or blown fuse, nothing to say you're not the unlucky one tho! You're description does sound like a starter problem, so I think checking the wiring for that circuit would be a good starting place. Out with the multimeter!
I've never known anyone get as far as cranking when they do it, as they normally notice PDQ. Yes in theory your starter will spin backwards so check its not stuck in the ring gear too

I would definately get your multimeter out.

Just go down the main wires checking for voltage where it should be.

I'd have thought you'd blown a fuse tbh.
