Hi all

I have a Freelander (2004 so a Freelander 1) diesel and could do with a bit of help with.

It developed a fault whereas there was absolutely no power in it, and it took ages to accelerate (slow build up of power) and had a hissing / loud fan type of noise at high revs.

I replaced an intercooler hose (it had a small hole in it) and that cured the power & acceleration problems. It still has this hissing / high fan sound at high revs. I have now noticed the engine (!) warning light comes on at around 70mph preceded by blue / black smoke from the exhaust. The warning light then goes out, the smoke disappears and it continues as normal.
Any ideas ?

I thought Turbo.

Check for split boost hoses. It's worth getting the codes read. MIL at 70 is normally a poor low pressure fuel supply. So it's worth getting the live data checked too.

Hey

Thanks. I found another hose with a split in it..replaced that and it seems OK now.

I've checked the other hoses and they all seem fine & tightly secured.

Cheers
