Hi There,
Anyone know what are the Symtoms of A clutch beginning to fail on a freelander. Is the clutch adjustable or would it have to be replaced.
Many Thanks.

Normally you can test it by puting it in a high gear say 5th at 30mph and flooring the throttle. The engine revs should rise slowly with the speed increase. If the revs rise fast then the clutch is slipping.
If you do need a new clutch than its worth paying the extra to have a new slave cylinder fitted as its inside the gearbox and if it fails (and they do) then its a gearbox out again job. I had my slave cylinder fail so had new slave and new clutch fitted for £470 all in. I think that was cheap for the job, most garages are a lot more expensive. It was a little back street garage just round the corner from me.

Good Luck

Working on the same principal as above, many garages will replace the DMF at the same time while the box is out, that adds about £500 to the price!
