Hi all,

Just purchased the above car and very honestly the guy selling it has said the sunroof has all been repaired, new motors, cables etc and it works, but when fitting it, the person fitting it, knocked off one of the plastic teeth, which I imagine the cog/motor goes along.

I have seen a repair kit on ebay and rimmer bros, with the teeth thing I need. looks like its around 30cms long by 1cm wide? http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-EFM100060

All I need to know is 2 things:

1. is this something I can do myself? I am mainly useless at things like this, but if its a case of unscrewing the old one and putting the new one on, it should be ok. Does the sunroof need to be open to do it, or can you do it from inside the car whilst closed? can't take glass out and motors, just too much for me!

2. can I use it with one of the teeth missing, will it actually make that much difference, as surely it engages with more than 1 tooth at a time?

any help would be brilliant!

you CAN do it first get in the car and each side there is a plastic trim , prise this off and then you will see the screws I think 2 on each side or maybe three and undo these and now you can take the glass out if you do a search on here I am sure somebody has done it. and with one tooth missing it will go out of sink

I used to sell builder's hardware and I always had women asking me, "Can my husband install/fix/do this?"
My answer was always, "I don't know your husband."
So, your best bet is to check out the how-tos and decide if you want to tackle the job.
(Bearing in mind that it's winter weather and you will have to live with any leaky results if it doesn't go well.)
Myself, I think I would wait until summer. :)
Good luck!
