hi my partner has a 2003 td4 freelander and she says the car starts and drives fine but the battery light is flashing , this first started yesterday when she was driving along and went over a speed hump and all the dash lights came on and the speedo and rev counter lights dimmed then everything went back to normal. since then the battery light is flashing and there no other lights on the dash coming on apart from on start up which is normal. any ideas what this could be ? thanks

Similar thing has happened to me mate..

I have just got the new/breakers plug and I am waiting till Saturday to fit it,
I need some light, and I seem to be working all the daylight hours
there are at present..

Could be the plug itself the same as mine, (Cheap but a pain)
Could be the Alternator itself dying, (Expensive part new, and a sod to fit)
Battery not holding the charge..

test the battery car not running should be 12volts +
test the battery car running should be up to 14volts ish

12+ Volts will show the battery is in good condition
14+ Volts will show the alternator is charging

You could take it to a garage to have this checked if you don't know how..

my land rover freelander 1 l314 was just showing red battery light to fix it I just took a wire connect it straight to the negative side of the battery and connected it straight to the body and my problem was solved it was a ground wire problem for me
