freelander petrol desperatly need help

hi,
I wrote i thread on here a couple of months asking for help on a freelander.
I followed advice and put another fuel pump in it which includes the fuel filter.
Basically its the 1.8 petrol(k series) engine, it ran perfect until a friend ran out of petrol in it, since then it is really hard to start and when it does eventually start it idles perfect but when you use the accelerator it constantly trys to cut out.(undriveable).
since the advice i was given i fitted a fuel pump with the filter, it seems to start a little better to be honest and if i use the accelerator slowly it revs all the way to red line but if i try to use the throttle it cuts out unless i ease my foot off.
If anyone has come across this or knows what a possible fault could be it would be very appreciated.
Also i have had it scanned with a snap on ethos machine but didnt come up with any faults.!

How many miles has it done since you installed the new pump and filter? If not many then there might be gunk in the system that needs to work its way out.

still sounds like fuel starvation, needs the pipe blowing out between pump and injectors.

Agreed,there is a blockage in the feed pipe.
