Freelander loosing power up hills when towing

Hiya 1st time towing with freelander i noticed it didn't like hills to much. At around 40 to 50 there sounds like a vacuum noise. I have change the 2 hoses on the right by the egr bypass. Is the rear one easy enough to change as i have this ready its the one that tapers. Whrn van is off it does 70 easy but still sounds like a vacuum
