I have spoken to my mate and his dad will knock up a racing clutch for us (out of aspestos!) and machine the flywheel for us to knock some weight off it :) He makes really quality parts and seeing him knock parts up is amazing to watch.

The lighter weight flywheel will mean the engine will spool up and down faster which is how i like it. Even if it can become a bit snatchy.

I guess roll cage and seats are the big ones. I need to have a look at how others have the roll cage really i think.

Seats - i will go to a local rallying shop and see what they can do. At least I will be able to get rid of the ghastly grey and green leather (wtf was that all about)

Other bits are a plumbed in fire extinguisher, harnesses, electrical cut off, upgraded suspension, set of tyres to meet the regs, remove the rear seats... i think that will do for a first attempt :)

Whats this upgraded ohlins suspension look like? (not a fan of ohlins on my bikes so will look at doing something else)

I also want to upgrade the cooling systems capabilities with probably a custom made expansion tank with larger capacity. electric water pump assistance with bypass and we will see what else comes along as i go. Probably a lightweight lithium battery.

total weight has to be 1350 kilos

Do youself a favour and just cut the whole heater loop out of the system. The EWP works beautifully but it's an utter #### to set up with the IRD cooler and heater. If it's a simple loop then there are only a few mods to do but you will still be rebuilding the entire hose configuration.

Ill figure something out :) i know its a whole convoluted system at the minute which i would want to simplify.

I will also though, be wanting any products i make for the freelander to be available through our shop so things have to work properly and not have major disadvantages. :)

What's your shop mate :)?

its not up and running properly yet mate and i dont think i should post it up on here :)

but basically doing landrover parts - special stuff - not suspension and standard parts, but stuff like fibreglass and carbon fibre roofs, additional fuel tanks, overlanding equipment, intercoolers, and a variety of other stuff... without taking the %$" on price just because its for a landrover.

Just getting lots of prototypes made and getting tooled up prior to going live :)

we will see... got a long way to go yet!

Product range ive assembled so far is up to about 200 products... and growing!

Crikey! Bet that's costing alot to set up! Still sounds like you'll have a great niche when you set up :).

most of them are just prototypes so dont cost much. But its the time that i seem to run out of.

All this happens whilst I run my own design consultancy. Just been offered a job up at dounraey but ... its frickin miles away!
