I was wanting to adjust my hand brake by tightening the handbrake adjustment nut which is under the coin tray behind the hand brake.

When I removed the coin tray I noticed the balance arm was not level

Is that ok, if not what could cause that and how to correct it. Videos on YouTube and other images the arm seems to be always level.

Thanks

The hand parking brake is adjusted at the brake drums, not the cable adjuster below the coin tray.
As stated by John above, you can do this through the hole in the drum by removing the plastic plug.

You will then see the knurled nut.

The drums really need to come off at least once a year, to check the shoes and clean inside, you may even have a sticking lever, due to rust.

I added new shoes kit to MY07 when i purchased it.

Adjust the drum shoes so they are just about touching the drum when you turn the wheel, you can do this by tightening up the knurled nut so the drum will not move then back it off, so it just about drags a little, any slack after that can be adjusted at the rear hand brake nut.
