Well I bought an aftermarket regulator for drivers door stripped it down then had to rebuild the motor etc to the the new unit when it was all in place the bolt through the metal strip could not be fitted as the " captive nut" on the motor plate on the new unit did not line up. Infuture I think I will pay extra for genuine LR parts. Still have not done the oil and filter as not one motor spares/tool shop in Newbury has a 36mm socket for the oil filter housing removal so i have had too order one.

I just replace the cables myself. A bit of a faff, but at least the rest of the assembly works as it did.

I've got a kit of different sized low profile sockets specifically for oil filter caps, as all manufacturers seem to use their own size.
