Wondered why my car (4.6 HSE) was using oil. Thought as first it was maybe burning the very thin 5w40 I
put in. But no!! I power all the **** off the bottom of the engine & boxes until it gleamed last night. I
used some car ramps so I could get right under it. Went on a 200m journey today & had a good look
underneath for the source. It's the crankshaft front seal so when it's running it's ****ing oil all over
the bottom of the car & onto the road, but when you park it up you only get a tiny drip!!! It must be
****ing out, there's oil all over the gaff!!

My friendly Land Rover mechanic quoted me an hour to do it!

Thank god it's nothing more serious!

I'm gonna get it waxoyled anyway, it's virtually new underneath. Chassis is like new & the engine & box
are like new too!! Mainly due to oil i reckon, but like new!

Not many jobs to do now to get it 100%. My new lower tailgate is crying out to be fit, but the weathers
not allowing it right now. I have a door check strap to fit & possibly a rear box due to the stupid
design of the back box is in direct firing line of the back wheel ffs!! The box etc is fine, but the
joint looks very shaky!

The air susp bags look a bit tired, but if they pass the ets, they pass the test.

I'm more annoyed about the ****kickers from Autoglass ****ing up the new windscreen. Me carpets are wet &
i'm not happy about it one bit.

A mate with a Disco II Es, after getting fed up with replacing the
airbags, just put some tire slime (this is the green gunk you put in
Mountain Bike tires to stop getting punctures) and he never had
problems again. He has replaced it with a DIII but his mate who bought
it off him is also having no problems almost a year after the "fix".
