Flat battery

My Range Rover l322 4.4 v8 had a flat battery this morning. Nothing to worry about as my wife bought me. NOCO GB40 for Xmas. I connected it up and nothing it the Range Rover wouldn’t even crank. I had to call the AA out. Can anyone recommend a starter pack for the V8? Thanks in advance.

Check the owners handbook for any procedure when using booster pack /jump leads as you may cause problems. Why did the battery go flat is another question that needs answering .

Will take few days to charge your battery up full.

Noco GB70 is jumper everyone is talkIng about but at that price you could just sort the problem

This surprises me very much.
I have to ask ... it was fully charged wasn't it?

Nowt wrong with the GB40 (IMHO). I have had it fail to start a tiny little Fiesta, which surprised me until I discovered why.
When you connect the GB40 across a totally dead battery you will probably hear an internal relay ticking on/off every few seconds.
This is the NOCO trying to dump some charge into the battery; it does a bit, gets hot, turns off, cools, turns back on (rinse-repeat).
The reason it failed to start the Fiesta was because the Fiesta's Starter Motor was seized solid. Not the GB40's fault at all.
I suspect you have some additional issue beyond "Flat-Battery". Good Luck.

It’s been sitting for a couple of weeks I’ve been on holiday. The AA connected his pack up and boom it started first turn of the key.

Oh and yes the GB40 was fully charged.

You should get in touch with the suppliers and see if you can get it replaced.

Just as a note the GB40 is only rated for up to 3l diesel.
Not saying it wouldn’t manage a 4.4 but may struggle if. not fully charged.

Either there is a parasitic drain, or the car battery is old and tired and it self discharged.
Not impressed with the Li-Ion jump packs, they have electronics to limit discharge rate and heating.

Could well be as it was reading 8.4 volts. No where near enough to start. I think the battery is about 5 years old. I got a new battery when I took the GB40 back.
