Hi got f4 flashing on dashboard and yellow decent light on.car auto matic td4 2005
Felt couple bangs then went in limp mode
Light goes out when put ignishen on till I drive then starts flashing f4 and shows yellow decent.

Just left car 3 hours. So was cold.
Started and lights stayed of for 5 min down road. But when it changing gear seems to bang .and lights back on.
She runs in 4th

Thanks

You need to get the codes read as many ECUs are involved in global faults. It could well be a CAN bus has gone down, or maybe the ABS modulator, or even the Ipack.

Definitely difficult to solve without some codes.

Hi had car on dinostics
Pinged up 2 4 I think drive solonoid

My next question is dose gear box need removed or can plate be gottin to with gear box still in car

Thanks

All solenoids can be accessed by removing the sump, which strangely is on the front of the gearbox, just behind the oil cooler.

You'll need to lift the front wheels of the car up about a foot from the ground, if you want to avoid too much fluid loss.

Thanks just got to brave it and try not brake any thing.
Will let use know how I got on

If it were mine I would do the resistance test. If the solenoids coil measures the wrong resistance the autos computer will have trouble operating it. If it dun't operate correctly, like at the right time or only part open, them yer feel gear shift problems.

A multimeter is reasonably cheap these days. And yer be surprised just how many faults that test finds. It's up to you but it's a lot less hassel than changing the solenoid. Worth a try. Yer too far away from me so I can't elp.

Hi i checked all the connections etc. Don't have multi meter. Friend put in dinostics machine at his work. Came up with 2 4 drive solonoid. Now time to try fix.
As no one wants to try fix it
Here's the solenoids with names and resistances.

had some one do voltage tests on cans etc. And had dinostics done again and this is dinostics ping up.

That small pipe is a breather for the auto gearbox. Nothing on the end of it. Yer can add a pipe to raise it higher for going through deep water if yer want.

We had look for ages looking for pipe hanging of lol
That's okay. I can call of search party lol

The gearbox computer has detected a fault with that solenoid. Yer need to do a resistance check as per the video I put up above. One specific solenoid is a problem. Measure the resistance across the solenoid. Also measure each side to ground (gearbox case or bodywork ont car). There's a chance yer has a short circuit from one side of the solenoid to the case. Or the solenoid is open circuit of resistance way oft what it should be.

I had some one look at it as not clued up on it all. All get him to check it again
And check ground wires

I was adding more to that post when yer replied. Yer may not have seen it.
The boy watched your vidio and done tests
But it's getting dropped of tomorrow and all get him to check ground wires and other resistences
Have ordered 2 4 solonoid tho

He will need to measure resistance from the 2-4 solenoid pins to earth and power. Also look for snagged wiring harness. He's looking for those pins to be short circuit to earth or power, or a broken wire/connection.
