Hi all,
removed fuel pump assembly from the tank last weekend, inspected, cleaned etc etc.
Refitted pump into tank, (which was a hell of a job), tightened locking ring...all seemed fine, till i filled it almost to the brim today...its now smelling of petrol and the underside of the tank shows signs of fuel seepage.
QUESTION: Have i done something wrong? (didnt renew the pump seal as it look fine).
If i'm lucky, it'll catch fire and burn itself :flame:....wont need matches.
Cheers, Russ

How did you refit the pump? If you put the rubber sealing ring onto the pump then tried to fit it into the tank, its almost impossible to seal, you need to place the sealing ring into the hole then slide the pump in and fit the locking ring, it should fit easily doing it that way.

That'll be the problem then!!
I fitted the seal over the pump, and had a nightmare trying to get the pump to fit in the 'ole.
I'll wait till the the tank is a little less full, then have another go.
Thanks for your help,
Russ
