Hi

Was thinking about a quick info page on how I fixed a number of classic and 38a abs pressure switches- always same problem.

Is there any interest in me doing a webpage with a link for info only purposes of is it teaching grandmother to suck eggs. I'm in lockdown so have time to do one.

Not saying I'm an expert far from it. but they are very simple things and might be fun

My girlfriend laughed and said that i made it all sound great and a magical repair rather than the very basic it is so sorry if i over sold it!!
tried to load into tdchnical but can only see an archived technical so put it here

as i say its very obvious but saved me searching for new switches and paying loads all just for info purposes

Not sure I quite understand the bit about the reason for making sure the micro switches can be to far in or not enough, why that affects the system pressure, and settings.

But I have never taken 1 apart. But still very handy info to have Incase I find myself getting in it.

Hi

As the plunger moves up and down inside casing, moved literally by the pressurised brake fluid in the system (the amount depending on brake fluid pressure) basically a self regulating system. I've made assumption that if the base holding micro switches isnt screwed in to correct position let's say not a screwed in enough, the head of the plunger will make contact with micro switches too late turning abs light, pump etc off at too high a pressure and if micro switch base screwed too far into casing the plunger will hit and activate micro switches earlier than it should meaning system turns off at too low a pressure.

I presume That's how switch manufacturer calibrates the switch during manufacture

That's what I believe looking at it but could be way off
