Fitting extended wheel arches

I fitted them to my 3 door disco it took me an afternoon to do so. The secret is to mark things up accurately and take your time. Check then re-check your marking and then get your angle grinder out. Fit it with a 1mm thick disc and then cut the metal away.

Once the metal is cut away file away the ruff edges and then paint the exposed metal with something to protect it.

Next job is to drill some holes so you can fit the extended arches. They screw to the car, sorry cannot remember the size of the drill used - start drilling a small hole and then enlarge as required.

As I said it's a simple job and should only take an afternoon.

As I said this is for a 3 door - what makes the 5 door complicated is that you have to trim the rear doors as well as the rear panel

Hope this helps.

When I did my old 3 door all I did was cut the old arch out with a 4" angle grinder and then drilled and screwed the arches on. I never bothered with the +/-measurements the instructions give. If I ever do my current 5 door I'll take more time and do it proper. Do a search as theres a very handy thread of someone doing a 5dr,where they fold the doors in to cover the gap left.
