fitting dump valve to my 200 tdi

hi all
been a member for nearly a year now since i got my 200 tdi (1992)so far its been totally reliable.Anyway ive been given a bailey dump valve and would like to fit it.the t piece fits into the intercooler pipe ok but theres a small vacuam pipe i cant work out where it goes ive been told i need a vacuam pipe t piece so i can put it in between the existing pipe.Can anybody help.will i just bugger my engine.opinions most wellcome.

why would you want to fit a dump valve to a tractor engine ?

got it for nothing. brand new.thougt the sound from it might hide the crunch as i change from first to second gear ha.

I've told two different ways first the way you have been told, but then other people say that you need a vac solenoid to fire the valve. I will keep an eye on this thread as i want the chavy sound. Mine a 300 tdi so i don't know if its done differently or not but it will be good to see

thats basicly what ive heard but i think the vac solonoid is more for the later electronic pumps.thanks for your interest iff you do come up with anything please let me know.
Iff the herberts in thier suburus can do it??

i thought thats what the wastegate was for, as standard, i do presume there is some way to adjust when the valve opens, if not you may be dumping the boost too soon or too late, the latter i would assume would cause damage? please somebody correct me if i'm wrong

i'm not sure why you would want to risk an engine, that in standard form works really good (most of the time )

if you want the sound then get a cheap Renault 5 GT Turbo, many cheap old dogs about, that have been thrashed within an inch of their lives

on a petrol engine they are there to prevent turbo stall when you lift off the gas and the throttle body is closed, not sure how they work on a dev as you have no throttle butterfly

Its so that we sound like we have got more than 111bhp well maybe more like 90 bhp now lol

would make a nice sound when it's under water

the turbo on a derv works totally different to a petrol, and a petrol DV cant be fitted to a derv. there are derv DVs available, a company made them for peugeots but cant remember who they are.

like he ^^ said you cant fit that on a diesel

there are full diesel dump valve kits on ebay althou alittle pricey at £139

Err, dump valves dont work on diesels

No throttle to close so no pressure to dump, diesels are continuosly breathing unlike petrol lumps, diesel speed is controlled by fuel alone not air/fuel ratio.

as every1 has said above

dump valves dont even work on modern common rail 200bhp diesels so it wont work on a tractor engine it will do alot more harm than good
