hi all. im new to owning a 4x4 and have also recently purchesed a apache 13000 winch to fit my defender 110 td5.
can any one whos got/fitted one give me any advice: the supplied leads seem a bit short which i can extend but do i just go directly back to the battery or run the neg to the chassis? ( will it affect v drop etc if i do that) also should i be fitting a second battery.
sorry for whats probably a daft question but going from a boy racer to a 4x4 is a learning curve.
thanks

thanks, helpful seeing how someone else has done it. didnt even accur to me if the grill etc would be in the way.
so much for a quick bolt on job.

I;ve got the same winch as you,

But the battery on a d1 is much closer, I suggest getting some extra earthing cable and running it along the side of the chassis

had a feeling id have to extend them. should i extend them both back to battery terminals or can i attach the neg onto the chassis and just extend the pos. ?
